Our corporate goal is to develop, preserve and use the ancient
Ethiopian script in computer graphics design, printing, information sharing and
archiving so that the Ethiopian community in Ethiopia and around the world
could utilize the modern electronic media for communication and printing in
Ethiopic (Geez). We launched our Ethiopic printing enterprise in 1991.
We have taken the lead in publishing, browsing and communication in
Ethiopic on the Internet. Put the Amharic
"Typewriter" and similar keyboards in the museum and join the desktop
and cyber publishing and communication revolution. Do not even think of the long lines of state censorship and media
controls. Why not join us on the web
and express yourself freely. Allow us
to print your Ethiopic manuscripts, invitations, corporate or social
stationary, calendar and signs or consult with us about your design or printing
needs. We have a global network of Ethiopian
experts who could translate your documents.
ETHIOPIAN COMPUTERS & SOFTWARE is the first and only developer of truly Ethiopic software (The ModEth,
1987; EthioWord, 1993 and EthoCyber,
1995) that we have been using to typeset text and create publication
layouts. See the list of some of the
books we printed the logos we designed on our home page. We can not accept or modify any electronic
files typeset using any other so called
Geez software other than our our EthioWord package.
We developed a standard Ethiopic keyboard that allows for typing all
the 480 characters found in all Ethiopian languages, with maximum of two
keystrokes in 1987. All accent characters used in all Ethiopian languages are
included. There is no need to concoct non-Ethiopic characters on the screen,
slap their graphic images on the web, and use Latin characters to represent
Ethiopic or reduce the number of characters in the original Ethiopic alphabet
that our brilliant ancestors created.
Fabrication of tales about non-existent legends (by dishonest academic
plagiarists who wish to discredit our scientific achievement) will not alter
this fact. Our software is currently compliant with any Windows 98 English
language software and works with MS OFFICE 2000.
To learn more about our software visit Fetan Graphics Home page, the web site for
cyber communications and electronic publishing in Ethiopian languages and
English. If you like our site, you
could do the same or better using our software. While you visit‚ learn a little
about Ethiopian alphabet‚ Ethiopian calendar, Ethiopian music, Ethiopian
scripts‚ Ethiopian languages' software and printing‚ Ethiopic e-mail and chat
and get plenty of useful information and news on Ethiopia.
